Specifically, it is a formative study about the use of a visualization tool for analysing library data. The goal of this study is to make suggestions for the presentation of the public library’s data in order to be more accessible and understandable by the users and the librarians. The data were provided by the Library and the data types that were used were selected after a thorough consultation with the library staff. Consideration was given to the availability of data. The study employed information visualization techniques to create the visual displays of the data. Visualizations were created using the Tableau Public software in an effort to provide a quantitative, analytical, and evidence-based view of how libraries could manage their data. The study also aimed to gather any additional potential uses of visualizations that can be exploited by the libraries in the future. The current research was conducted in a single public library, thus further research in different, expanded settings and contexts is suggested.</dc:description><datacite:subjects><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">visualization</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">information visualization</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">public library</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">library data</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">Public Library of Veria</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">Tableau Public software</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">[SHS.INFO]Humanities and Social Sciences/Library and information sciences</datacite:subject></datacite:subjects><oaire:licenseCondition startDate="2019-06-11 09:08:26" uri="https://about.hal.science/hal-authorisation-v1">Hal authorisation v1</oaire:licenseCondition><datacite:dates><datacite:date dateType="Accepted">2019-06-11</datacite:date><datacite:date dateType="Issued">2019-06-11</datacite:date><datacite:date dateType="Available">2019-06-11</datacite:date></datacite:dates><dc:language>eng</dc:language><oaire:resourceType resourceTypeGeneral="literature" uri="http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501">journal article </oaire:resourceType><datacite:relatedIdentifiers><datacite:relatedIdentifier relatedIdentifierType="URL" relationType="IsIdenticalTo">https://hal.science/hal-02142262v1</datacite:relatedIdentifier></datacite:relatedIdentifiers><datacite:rights rightsURI="http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2">open access</datacite:rights><oaire:file accessRightsURI="http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2" mimeType="application/pdf" objectType="fulltext">http://elpub.episciences.org/5527/pdf</oaire:file><oaire:version uri="http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85">VoR</oaire:version><dc:format>application/pdf</dc:format><oaire:citationTitle>ElPub - ELectronic PUBlishing</oaire:citationTitle><oaire:citationVolume>Academic publishing and digital bibliodiversity</oaire:citationVolume><oaire:citationIssue>Long Papers</oaire:citationIssue><dcterms:audience>Researchers</dcterms:audience><dcterms:audience>Students</dcterms:audience></resource>
